A State Government initiative allows micro, small, and medium-sized entrepreneurs to access lines of credit for their businesses
Santo André, May 6, 2026 – On Wednesday (May 6), approximately 60 entrepreneurs from Santo André attended the Credit Workshop organized by Desenvolve SP, the São Paulo State development agency, in the auditorium of the city’s Technology Park. The initiative aimed to connect the regional business sector with financing options available for the expansion, modernization, innovation, and sustainability of new businesses.
The Credit Initiative is aimed at micro, small, and medium-sized entrepreneurs, and its objectives are to expand entrepreneurs’ access to credit, support companies in the pre-operational phase, increase competitiveness, and strengthen local economies. The loans offer customized repayment terms, with attractive interest rates, grace periods, and repayment terms tailored to the profile of each project.
In Santo André, entrepreneurs attended a presentation on the state business financing program and received personalized assistance, by appointment, to have their questions answered and receive specific guidance on loans tailored to the profile of each business sector.
During the event, entrepreneurs were introduced to the main financing options available for innovation and sustainability projects, support for pre-operational companies, working capital, the purchase of machinery and equipment, construction and renovation, tourism, business expansion, and rural credit.
The presentation of the Credit Day program was given by Ricardo Dalceno, a private business consultant at Desenvolve SP, a public institution that serves companies at various stages of development, from early-stage businesses to well-established companies looking to expand their operations.
Dalceno explained that the process of accessing credit begins through the institution’s website, where the business owner submits the initial application and undergoes a technical review. After this stage, the process continues with specialized support from a consultant who is responsible for providing guidance, answering questions, and assisting with the application process.
He also pointed out that Desenvolve SP is a public credit agency with characteristics that differ from those of traditional banking institutions, prioritizing economic development and job creation. According to the consultant, its key advantages include more competitive interest rates, longer repayment terms, and grace periods, depending on the type of project submitted.
According to Evandro Banzato, Secretary of Economic Development and Job Creation, “it is impossible to talk about attracting investment, creating jobs, fostering entrepreneurship, accelerating business growth, and promoting innovation without mentioning easy access to credit. Santo André has demonstrated, in practice, that financing for entrepreneurs can lead to new products, new services, innovative projects, and, consequently, real and sustainable development for the city.”
In addition to the City Government, through the Department of Economic Development and Job Creation, the Credit Fair in Santo André received support from the Santo André Commercial and Industrial Association (Acisa), Banco do Povo Paulista, the Center for Industries of the State of São Paulo (CIESP), and Sebrae.
